Business Development/Marketing Assistant

We have an outstanding opportunity for a Business Development Assistant, to join our team! Reporting into Dawn Shanks, our BDM, you’ll be key to supporting the effective delivery of all business development and marketing activity. This is a pretty exciting time for PlanB and we need a BDA to demonstrate the following:

Experience of working in a marketing or business development role focussed on business growth and service, or a marketing graduate.

Ability to work independently and flexibly with a strong use of initiative.

Good verbal communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure

Sales channel responsibilities include:

  • Excellent written communication skills for reviewing high quality content for proposal documents and producing online content.
  • A sense of humour!
  • You’ll have access to all areas of the business and an opportunity to work across all departments but the key elements of your role will include working closely with the BDM, consultants and clients to set up meetings to discuss potential new business opportunities
  • Reviewing proposals prior to them going out to client, designing new documents or slides for clients, often working under pressure of time.
  • Arranging and attending networking and other events to promote PlanB services and brand to generate leads and business opportunities.
  • Ensuring that all queries received from clients and potential clients are handled efficiently with a sense or urgency, and that information provided to them, is accurate and timely.
  • Ensuring the sales pipeline is updated and reports produced for the weekly Ops meeting with the COO and Senior Mgmt.
  • Updating salesforce with new client info and opportunity updates, as well as tracking emails.
  • Following up on Sales force tasks and creating follow up tasks

Marketing responsibilities:

  • Identifying ways and means of driving traffic to the website
  • Managing digital and social media campaigns
  • Managing the updating of new resources and material for the website via CC
  • Contributing to mailers and newsletters
  • Proofing all marketing content
  • Updating adwords
  • Business cards
  • Co-ordinating awards events and helping with submissions
  • Monitoring PlanB webinar activities and updating digital and social media, increasing registration
  • Adding webinars to youtube channel and website
  • Adhoc marketing activities as they arise

Graduate Consultant

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to develop your skills and gain experience from leaders in their field. See below a few reasons why you should consider joining PlanB.

  1. You will receive world-class training. This will include the CBCI course which will be completed within the first few months of starting, the course details are here. You will also receive extensive on the job training from our Senior Consultants and Directors, they are leaders in this market and have received multiple awards for their work in BC. They have also been involved in writing a number of the business continuity standards. You will also attend external courses and will have the opportunity to develop your interest within a number of disciplines including cyber, supply chain, ISO 22301, crisis management or crisis communications. 
  2. We have a flexible working policy so there is the opportunity to work from our office in Linwood as well as from home.
  3. You will be will be given all of the tools required to be a  PlanB consultant, write proposals, devise solutions to clients problems and improve your presenting skills by delivering training, exercises and running workshops. You will be involved in all aspects of delivery so in the first year you will not be stuck in the office, writing reports, doing research and making the tea.
  4. There is the opportunity for travel, in the year pre-covid, our consultants travelled to all parts of the UK as well as to Malta, Luxenberg, the Channel Islands, Portugal, South Africa, Botswana and Aruba. 
  5. We have an excellent work-life balance we don’t work excessive hours but when travelling there will be the occasional early morning start and get back late.
